DESCRIPTION

authcon?g

provides?a?simple?method?of?con?guring?/etc/syscon?g/network?to?handle?NIS,?as?well?as

/etc/passwd?and?/etc/shadow,?the??les?used?for?shadow

password?support.

Basic?LDAP,

Kerberos?5,?and

Winbind?client?con?guration?is?also?provided.

If

--test

action?is?speci?ed,

authcon?g

can?be?run?by?users?other?then?root,?and?any

con?guration?changes

are?not?saved

but?printed?instead.

If

--update

action?is?speci?ed,

authcon?g

must?be?run?by?root?(or

through?console?helper),?and?con?guration?changes?are?saved.?Only?the??les?affected?by?the?con?guration

changes?are?overwritten.?If

--updateall
